The 8th Labour Law Research Network (LLRN8) conference will take place in Cagliari, Italy, from 28 to 30 June 2027.

It is being hosted by the Law Department at the University of Cagliari, in collaboration with SERI (European School of Industrial Relations) – Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini. The conference will bring together labour law scholars from around the world to share ideas in an inclusive and open environment.
Thanks to its Mediterranean location and strong academic tradition, the University of Cagliari is an ideal setting in which to facilitate dialogue between European and African labour law systems. Ongoing collaborations with universities in Africa aim to encourage broader participation and the inclusion of perspectives from the Global South.

Founded in 2011, the Labour Law Research Network (LLRN) brings together research centres dedicated to labour law from around the world with the goal of advancing scholarship in the field. The Network promotes the dissemination of research, open discussion and a broad understanding of labour law, including all aspects of work regulation. It is open to all scholars and there are no formal individual membership requirements; joining the mailing list is sufficient. The LLRN values inclusiveness, global reach and gender equality, and seeks to avoid hierarchical structures within its community.

The Organizers

Università degli Studi di Cagliari

The University of Cagliari, founded in 1626 as Studium Generalis Kalaritanum, is a state public institution with about 25,000 students.
Rooted in the traditions of Spanish universities such as Salamanca, Valladolid, and Lérida, it has grown into an open and international university with over 1,200 Erasmus+ agreements worldwide.
Offering around 100 undergraduate and graduate programs, including double degrees and courses taught in English, the university fosters global perspectives while maintaining strong academic rigor.
Its Faculty of Law, also established in 1626, combines centuries of tradition with a commitment to innovation, preparing students for careers in law, public administration, and international organizations.
